Dr. Brooks Tran

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Brooks began playing the piano at the age of seven. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at the University of Washington under the tutelage of Patricia Michaelian, and both his Master’s and Doctorate degrees studying under Craig Sheppard.
Brooks has performed throughout the west coast, including appearances at Meany Hall and Benaroya Hall in Seattle, and the Carmel Music Society in California. He is also the co-founder and associate artistic director of Parnassus Project, a collective of musicians dedicated to connecting chamber music and community.
Brooks has taught secondary piano at the University of Washington, coached chamber music at Mercer Island High School, and currently runs a private teaching studio that welcomes students of all ages.
