Maren Kilmer

Beginning Piano Studies, Intermediate Piano Studies, Violin Studies, Viola Studies

Through Maren’s teaching, she aims to advocate, educate, and inspire her students by creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, exploring their curiosity, and discovering their own musical voice.

During her time in college, Maren studied piano and began teaching beginner to advanced students of all ages. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance, a Nonprofit Organization minor, and a Professional Writing certificate from Central Washington University. Maren also had the opportunity to teach viola and violin in both large and small groups with Yakima Music en Acción, an El Sistema program in Yakima, WA.

Currently, Maren works as a clinician in the Lake Washington and Seattle public schools and as a coach with the Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition to coaching orchestras, Maren continues her passion for music as a performer, playing viola with the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra and Saratoga Orchestra.

In addition to teaching and performing, you can find Maren cuddling up with her two cats, Burfi and Stubbs, sipping a cup of coffee while reading a book.
