Stephanie Lee
General Piano Studies | Advanced Classical Studies
Stephanie Lee, a native to Washington, began studies in piano at the age of six. She received her Bachelors of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Washington, where she studied under Dainius Vaicekonis and Cristina Valdes. Since then, she has been teaching students of all ages and backgrounds both in her private studio and in studios around the Seattle area and the Eastside.
She believes that music, like any other language, is an important tool for expressing things other languages cannot. To that end, she encourages individuality, inviting students to interpret what they will within the constraints of a piece. She believes music is a discipline that can be immensely satisfying, and tries to provide the tools to do so through teaching a good foundation in playing technique and theory early on.
Outside of teaching, Stephanie also plays in a local cello orchestra, dabbles in composition, and hikes.
